Should I learn to drive before starting nursing school?

I’m planning to attend any community college in the Bay Area in CA for nursing. Ideally I’d like to get into CCSF or Merritt College. I’m 19 now and I’m still scared to learn to drive. I’ve heard that the transportation systems in the bay area are great so I’m wondering if it would be fine if I lived there car-free. Things to consider are going from the school to the hospital I’d have clinicals in and how fast I can go from place to place on a schedule.
