Whats the best way to learn how to drive?
Slim504 asked:
Whats the best way to learn how to drive on your own without any help or instructions because I’m in a predicament where its hard to find someone to teach me.
That was my plan but due to Hurricane Katrina i was forced to move to Mississippi and the area I’m in doesn’t have any driving schools.
I think if i could practice in a empty parking lot i can get it on my own but the only time parking lots are empty is late at night and I’m surrounding by elderly people so that plan goes down the drain.

You can’t drive on a permit without an adult licensed driver with you. It’s really best to go to school so you learn right.
eeek…. go out to the country, please! And definitely use manual shift, humm well you put the key in the ignition. Put the gear in motion, slowly put your foot on the acceleration…. and just get comfortable with that. I’d suggest taking a drivers ed. coarse, its more then the ability to go strait… you need to learn to rules and regulations of the roads… Maybe you want to go to your local DMV you can pick up a copy of the study manual guide…
The best way to learn to drive is to first learn all of the driving rules by studying your driving manual. Next observe a good driver– ask questions — about different driving situations. Get your permit. Find a licensed driver over 21 years old who is willing to let you drive him/or her everywhere they are going. This is practice — when you feel confident and comfortable — take the road test. If you do not feel confident or comfortable about your driving; instead of taking the road test, take a few driving lessons with a driving insructor.
Go to a cemetery. That way, if you hit anything, it most likely will already be dead. That is where I taught myself to drive my parents’ VW rabbit.
On a back road.
find one of the old people that has nothing to do. they will be glad to teach you to drive just to have some company and someone to help with a few chores.
