What is a good place to learn how to drive?

Aside from driving lessons (which I’m getting) what good places are there to learn how to drive? Most of the fields around are for silage and the grass is too long to drive around in them. So, ideas?

Find an empty parking lot.
Most people say parking lot. I disagree. There are too many cars popping out (and too many moms).
go to slow back streets – outside the rush hours.

Start from an empty parking lot to get a feel of the car, practice just driving straight and making turns. Then when your ready go on an empty sttreet with little cars. That will give you steet experiance with signs and parked cars and even cars driving around you. Then when your ready, go on a regualr streeet. Its kind of like an experiance building exercise.
Church parking lots during the week, school parking lots on the weekend.
